Second ODI of the three-match series between West Indies and Ireland, scheduled to take place at Sabina Park, Kingston on 11 January, was postponed after the Covid-19 cases in the Irish squad increased to five.

Ireland Captain Andy Balbirnie and Lorcan Tucker are the latest Ireland players to test positive for the Coronavirus, along with interim coach David Ripley. Earlier, Simi Singh and Ben White missed the series opener on 8 January after testing positive for Covid-19. West Indies beat Ireland by 24 runs in that match.

Besides, Andy McBrine retired hurt following concussion protocols in the first ODI with a head injury, while Mark Adair has a foot injury. With these injuries, the prospect of the series being completed is now in jeopardy.

The teams are scheduled to meet in the third ODI on 14 January before and a T20I, all at Sabina Park, two days after.

Meanwhile, Paul Stirling and Shane Getkate have returned to the squad following periods of quarantine after testing Covid-19 positive during Ireland's recent tour in the USA, in Florida.
