Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced the schedule for the much-anticipated tour, which will feature a three-match One-Day International (ODI) series and a five-match T20 International (T20I) series. The reigning world champions will visit the Caribbean in December following the 2023 edition of the 50-over competition in India.
The tour will start on December 3 with the first two ODIs scheduled to be played at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua. The third ODI will take place at the iconic Kensington Oval in Barbados on December 9, followed by the first of five T20Is on December 12. Grenada will host the next two T20Is on December 14 and 16, and the tour will conclude with the fourth and fifth T20Is at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad on December 19 and 21, which will be hosting a West Indies vs England men's fixture for the first time.
CWI's Chief Executive Officer, Johnny Grave, expressed his excitement for the tour, saying: "We are delighted to be able to confirm the England match schedule and to welcome once again their many travelling fans to the region for a pre-Christmas white-ball tour." He also emphasized the economic boost the tour would bring to the host countries and how it would help in the preparation for the upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup, which will take place in the region in June 2024.
The West Indies-England rivalry has always been a thrilling one, and fans can expect some exciting cricket during the tour. With some of the world's best players on both sides, the series is sure to be a treat for cricket fans worldwide.
