West Indies vs Pakistan, 1st Women’s ODI: Preview, prediction and probable XIs Image

After getting clean-swept in the T20I series, Pakistan will now face West Indies in the first Women’s ODI of the five-match series at Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua.

This is probably the last opportunity for Pakistan to attune their squad composition before heading into the qualifier for the ICC Women’s World Cup. Earlier this year, they were outclassed by South Africa.

Pakistan will persist with Muneeba Ali as an opening partner to the skipper Javeria Khan. Muneeba had replaced Javeria Rauf in the last T20I. Sidra Nawaz, however, will continue as a wicketkeeper.

Pakistan were let down by their underwhelming batting in the T20I series. They need to click as a unit to pose any threat to the home side.

West Indies, on the other hand, will be without Chinelle Henry, who has been rested for the first two games. Henry collapsed while fielding in the second T20I and was taken to the hospital immediately. She is replaced by Caneisha Isaac.

West Indies are unlikely to change their winning combination, even though the format is different. Hayley Matthews and Deandra Dottin provided them with a brisk start on multiple occasions, and are likely to do the same again.

Stafanie Taylor, back to form, and Anisa Mohammed, will be two spinners of the side, while Shamilia Connell and Aaliyah Alleyne will lead the pace department.
