West Indies succumbed to a 109-run defeat in the second Test at Sabina Park Cricket Stadium. Resuming Day 5 on 49/1, they lost nine wickets in just over two sessions. Hasan Ali struck twice in quick succession to reduce them to 73/4. The next set of batters failed to build something substantial on their starts, as West Indies were bowled out for 219.

Jason Holder 9 (M 2, R 147, Ave 36.65, W 8, Ave 16.87)

Holder was West Indies’ leading run-getter, and only Jayden Seales and Shaheen Shah Afridi had more wickets in the series. In the first Test, he got three wickets and made 58 to help West Indies take a slender lead. He then top-scored 48 in the second Test.

Jayden Seales 9 (M 2, W 11, Ave 17.09)

At 19, Seales became the youngest West Indies to claim a five-for in the Test cricket. At No. 11, he helped Kemar Roach score the 17 runs they needed to win the first Test match.

Kraigg Brathwaite 8.5 (M 2, R 142, Ave 35.50 50s 1)

Brathwaite’s 97 laid a solid foundation for West Indies in the first Test. He kept out 147 balls in the fourth innings of the second Test, but it was not enough to avoid defeat.

Kemar Roach 8 (M 2, W 8, Ave 19.50)

Roach picked up five wickets in the first Test and three in the second. His unbeaten 30 helped West Indies to a one-wicket victory in the opening Test.

Jermaine Blackwood 7.5 (M 2, R 135, Ave 33.75)

West Indies were 16/3 when Blackwood (58) forged a 68-run partnership with Roston Chase in the first Test. He got two starts in the second, but failed to convert either.

Kyle Mayers 6 (M 2, W 3, Ave 46, R 32, Ave 8)

An ordinary series for Mayers, where he failed to make an impact with bat, aggregating 32 runs across four innings. He was used as a first-change bowler in the opening Test.

Joshua Da Silva 5 (M 2, R 5, Ave 13.75 C 12)

Da Silva batted at No. 8 and 9 in the series, quite low for modern-day wicketkeepers. He made little impact, but grabbed 12 catches.

Alzarri Joseph 4 (M 1, W 2, Ave 49.5)

Joseph replaced Jomel Warrican in the second Test and picked up two wickets.

Roston Chase 4 (M 2, R 53, Ave 13.25)

Chase made 53 runs in two matches. His fourth-wicket partnership with Blackwood in the first Test remains his most significant contribution in this series.

Nkrumah Bonner 3 (M 2, R 44, Ave 11)

An ordinary series Nkrumah Bonner, where he scored just 44 runs in two games. He is unlikely to retain his spot for the next series.

Kieran Powell 2 (M 2, R 32, Ave 8)

Like Bonner, Powell is unlikely to retain his spot after an underwhelming campaign, where he averaged in a single digit with the bat.

Jomel Warrican 2 (M 1, W 0)

The pitch had little for spinners in the first Test, and West Indies replaced Warrican with an extra pacer for the second Test.
