Experienced batter Tom Latham will captain a revamped New Zealand side for the five-match ODI series against Pakistan, which begins on April 26.

The five-match One-Day International series will kick off on April 26 in Rawalpindi and conclude on May 7 in Karachi. It will be preceded by a five-match T20I series from April 14 to April 24.

New Zealand will be missing several regular stars, including Test captain Tim Southee, Lockie Ferguson, Glenn Phillips, Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner, and Finn Allen, who are currently engaged in IPL franchise commitments. Kane Williamson, the ODI captain, is out with a right knee injury sustained during the first match of the IPL.

Latham, on the other hand, will rely on the services of experienced players such as Daryl Mitchell, Matt Henry, James Neesham, Henry Nicholls, and Ish Sodhi, according to a release issued by Cricket New Zealand on Monday.

Ben Lister and Cole McConchie are two potential debutants for New Zealand.

"We've enjoyed a number of exciting matches against Pakistan across both white ball formats in the last season home and away," said head coach Gary Stead during the tour. They are a tough team no matter where they play.

"The successful One-Day International Series earlier this year in Pakistan provided significant learning opportunities for the players, and having more ODI match experience in a World Cup year is fantastic," he said.
