Sydney Sixers vs Melbourne Stars

Melbourne Stars 99/1 in 11 overs (Villani 54; Brown 1-17) lost to Sydney Sixers 100/4 in 10.2 overs (Healy 57; McKenna 1-9) by 6 wickets with 4 balls to spare.

In a rain-marred match reduced to 11-overs-per-side, Sydney Sixers rode on Alyssa Healy's 27-ball 57 to beat Melbourne Stars by six wickets. They chased down a target of 100 in 10.2 overs.

Melbourne Stars got off a decent start, courtesy a 49-run opening stand between Annabel Sutherland and Elyse Villani (51). Sutherland got run out in the sixth over. Meg Lanning (23*) then joined Villani in the middle, and the duo added 59 runs.

Shafali Verma couldn't do much in her first WBBL appearance: she was beaten through the gate on 8 by Sutherland. Ashleigh Gardner and Ellyse Perry too got out cheaply, but Healy ensured a victory for Sydney Sixers.
