Melbourne Renegades suffered their second defeat of the season, after failing to chase 195 against Perth Scorchers. They fell 40 short of the target as Lilly Mills picked up four wickets for the Scorchers. Earlier, Beth Mooney (101*) struck the first hundred of the season and Sophie Devine slammed 72, as Perth put up 194/2.
In another match, Sydney Sixers defeated Hobart Hurricanes by 31 runs. Lifted by Ashleigh Gardner's half-century, the Sixers scored 141/4 and restricted the Hurricanes to 110.
Despite the defeat, The Renegades stayed at the top of the points table. Perth Scorchers, Brisbane Heat and Sydney Sixers are tied with nine points each.
