Perth Scorchers thrashed Melbourne Stars by 10 wickets in Match 39 of the WBBL 2021 at the Karen Rolton Oval in Adelaide. They restricted the Stars to 97/9, and chased the target with 67 balls to spare.

Sophie Devine and Marizanne Kapp bowled accurately, going for less than four an over, while Alana King and Heather Graham took two wickets each. Kim Garth top-scored for the Stars, with a run-a-ball 31.

The Scorchers reached the target flawlessly, courtesy Beth Mooney’s unbeaten 38-ball 57 and Devine’s unbeaten 27-ball 35.

Sydney Sixers v Adelaide Strikers

Sydney Sixers 142/4 in 20 overs (Verma 53*; Brown 2-34) lost to Adelaide Strikers 148/2 in 18.4 overs (Mack 67*; Brown 1-30) by 8 wickets with 8 balls to spare. Player of the Match: Katie Mack.

Adelaide Strikers cruised to an eight-wicket win against Sydney Sixers in Match 40 of the competition.

Katie Mack starred with bat with an unbeaten 55-ball 67 while chasing 143. Laura Wolvaardt (33) and Tahlia McGrath (40*) also chipped in with useful contributions, as they took their side past the finishing line with eight balls to spare.

Earlier, the Sixers rode on Shafali Verma’s unbeaten 43-ball 53 to post 142/4. Darcie Brown returned 2-34 and Amanda-Jade Wellington 1-26.
