Ashleigh Gardner's fifty went in vain as Brisbane Heat chased down 160 in 18.3 overs with eight wickets and nine balls in hand.

Chasing 160, the Heat got off a decent start, thanks to a 53-run opening stand between Georgia Redmayne and Grace Harris. Redmayne fell for 18, while Harris scored 54 in 39 balls. An unbeaten 48 from Georgia Voll, and a quick 23 from Laura Kimmince drove Brisbane to the sixth victory of the season.

Earlier, Sydney were lifted by Gardner's 52-ball 86 not out to post 159/2. Nicole Bolton chipped in with a valuable 38, but Ellyse Perry (14) and Alyssa Healy (16) could not manage anything substantial.

Adelaide Strikers vs Sydney Thunder

Sydney Thunder suffered their sixth defeat of the season. Chasing 177 against Adelaide Strikers, they managed only 158/6. Tahlia Wilson (42) and Phoebe Litchfield (40) added 73 for the second wicket before the latter got out in the 13th over. Wilson struggled to break free subsequently.

Earlier, Dane van Niekerk (58) and Katie Mack (31) added 65 for the opening stand. Wolvaardt's 32-ball 54 propelled Adelaide to 176/4.
