Oval Invincibles defeated London Spirit by eight wickets at The Oval to register their fourth win of The Hundred 2021. They climbed to second place in the points table.
Tammy Beaumont and Heather Knight added 76 for the second wicket after Spirit lost Naomi Dattani early in the innings. Beaumont made 42 in 34 balls, while Knight’s contribution was worth 34. Alice Capsey provided the much-needed breakthrough to the Invincibles by getting rid of Knight.
The next seven batters could only manage 19 between them. Capsey and Marizanne Kapp picked up two wickets each. The Invincibles easily chased down the target in 67 balls. Georgia Adams remained unbeaten on 37, while Kapp made 23 not out in 20 balls.
