Northern Superchargers vs Manchester Originals, Leeds

Northern Superchargers 126/5 in 100 balls (Wolvaardt 75*; Cross 3-19) lost to Manchester Originals 127/2 in 86 balls (Lee 68; Moore 1-20) by 8 wickets with 14 balls to spare. Player of the Match: Kate Cross

Lizelle Lee’s half-century helped Manchester Originals registered their second victory of the tournament. They chased down a target of 127 set by Northern Superchargers with eight wickets and 14 balls to spare. The Originals finished fifth in the points table.

Put into bat, the Superchargers ended up losing four wickets for just 16 runs. Kate Cross claimed three of them. Laura Wolvaardt stood firm, making an unbeaten 75 off 51 to single-handedly propel her team to a fighting total. She smashed 10 fours and a six.

In reply, the Originals got off a decent start courtesy Lizelle Lee, who did the bulk of scoring in a 50-run opening partnership with Emma Lamb. Lee soon reached her fifty, and made 68 off 14 before falling to Kalea Moore – but she had already done her work by then. The Originals were 102/2 when Lee got out. Mignon du Preez (24) and Cordelia Griffith (13) did the rest.
