Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh Only Test: Report Card for hosts Image

Let us have a look at how the Zimbabweans fared in the Test match against Bangladesh at Harare Sports Club.

Brendan Taylor 8 (R 173, Ave 86.5, SR 105)

Despite suffering a big-margin defeat to Bangladesh, Taylor, the highest run-scorer in the contest, batted aggressively at Harare. He aggregated 173, that too at a strike rate of 105, with 28 fours and a six.

Takudzwanashe Kaitano 7 (R 94, Ave 47, SR 22.76)

If Taylor scored most runs, Katiano faced most balls – 413, for his 94 runs. He stood firm like a wall on debut, and may be the next big thing for his country.

Milton Shumba 6 (R 52, Ave 26, SR 50.96)

Shumba made 41 in the first innings but departed for 11 in the second. He also bowled 33.4 overs for one wicket.

Blessing Muzarabani 5.5 (W 4, Ave 30.25, R 32, Ave 32)

Muzarabani often extracted bounce, and finished with match figures of 4-121. He will, unfortunately, be remembered for the ugly spat between him and Taskin Ahmed. He also made 30 not out in the final innings.

Dion Myers 5.5 (R 53, Ave 26.5, SR 34.64)

Myers, another debutant, took 65 and 88 balls respectively for his 26 and 27. He looked composed in his outings.

Donald Tiripano 5 (R 54, Ave 27, SR 36.24)

After departing cheaply in the first innings, Tiripano fought hard on the final day but failed to save the Test match. His 144-ball 52 went in vain.

Regis Chakabva 3.5 (R 32, Ave 16, C 2)

Chakabva was unbeaten on 31 in the first innings. In the second, he lasted three balls. He also held two catches behind the stumps.

Victor Nyauchi 3 (W 2, Ave 64, R 10, Ave 5)

Nyauchi bowled 27 overs for his two wickets but he conceded 128. He also batted for 54 balls in the fourth innings.

Richard Ngarava 2.5 (W 2, Ave 59. 5)

With figures of 2-119, Ngarava made a little impact in the match after bowling 32 overs.

Roy Kaia 1.5 (R 0, W 0)

Kaia recorded a pair. His 23 overs went for 127 and did not fetch a wicket.

Timycen Maruma 1 (R 0, W 0)

Maruma got a pair as well. He did not bowl or take a catch either. The one point is for fielding for long hours.
