Zimbabwe and Thailand will be up against each other in the third and final Women’s T20I of the series at Takashinga Sports Club in Harare, on Monday, 30 August. The series currently stands level at 1-1.
Thailand lost the first match of the series but made a great comeback by winning the next one by 53 runs. Natthakan Chantham’s unbeaten 65-ball 88, with 10 fours and two sixes, helped them post a challenging 154. Naruemol Chaiwai too contributed with 15 off 10.
Nattaya Boochatham has been terrific the whole tour. She has been the most prolific player for Thailand, contributing with both bat and ball. She has taken seven wickets in two matches so far, along with key contributions at the top.
Zimbabwe, on the other hand, were let down by their top order in the last T20I. Their first four batters combined just 24 runs, a bulk of which came from the bat of Modester Mupachikwa (18), one of the consistent batters for her team. Precious Marange and Josephine Nkomo tried to revive the chase, but it was too late.
Zimbabwe’s bowlers have been far from threatening. They have managed only seven wickets across the first two games. In contrast, the visitors had bagged 19 wickets.
