For the Renegades, Mackenzie Harvey and Sam Harper struggled to reach just 38 in the Powerplay. Harper (12) fell to James Bazley on the first ball of the seventh over. Nic Maddinson made 19 in 21 balls before Mitchell Swepson claimed him. Harvey scored 71 off 56 to take Melbourne Renegades to 140/6 in 20 overs.
Chris Lynn then slammed 32 in 15 balls to get the Strikers off to an explosive start before Sam Heazlett made a measured 44 to drive them to an easy win. Bazley (3-28) was adjudged Player of the Match.
