Khawaja hits hundreds twice in Sydney

After scoring 137 in the first innings, Usman Khawaja scored an unbeaten 101 in the second to put Australia in command on Day 4 of the fourth Ashes Test match at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Riding on Khawaja’s second hundred in the Test, Australia declared on 265/6 to set England an improbable 388 to win.

England reached 30/0 at stumps, with Zak Crawley on 22 and Haseeb Hameed on 8.

Kent sign George Linde on two-year deal

George Linde signed a contract with Kent to play for the club until the end of the 2023 season across all formats. Linde made his debut for South Africa in October 2019, and has played three Tests, two ODIs and 14 T20Is. He was named South Africa's domestic four-day Cricketer of the Year last year for his 23 wickets and 322 runs for Cape Cobras.

Linde has taken 214 First-Class wickets at 24 and scored 2,383 runs at 30 from 60 matches.

South Africa's contracted players to not get NOCs for PSL

South Africa will not issue NOCs to any centrally contracted players for the PSL, as Graeme Smith, Cricket South Africa's Director of Cricket, told ESPNCricinfo:‘It is true that contracted members of the proteas team had their NOCs for the Pakistan Super League refused due to the Proteas international schedule and domestic competitions which must always be prioritized.’

However, Marchant de Lange, Imran Tahir and Rilee Rossouw, the three South Africans who were picked in the last month’s PSL draft, are not centrally contracted by CSA.

SLC to not issue NOC for BPL 2022

As per Cricbuzz, Sri Lanka Cricket will not provide a NOC for their cricketers for the upcoming edition of the BPL, scheduled to begin on 21 January. As many as nine Sri Lankans were picked by six franchises. They are now looking for replacements.

Fortune Barisal already roped in Dwayne Bravo for Danushka Gunathilaka. The other teams are still in search to replace Kusal Mendis, Niroshan Dickwella, Dinesh Chandimal, Angelo Perera, Thisara Perera, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Seekkuge Prasanna and Isuru Udana.
