Punjab Kings (PBKS) will go head-to-head with Mumbai Indians (MI), on 23 April, in Match 17 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Having won just one out of four matches in IPL 2021, PBKS languish at seventh place in the points table, only above Rajasthan Royals (RR). Mumbai, on the other hand, have managed two victories in four attempts. Rohit Sharma & co. are currently at fourth, between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Despite losing to Delhi in their latest encounter, defending champions Mumbai are unlikely to make any changes in their line-up. Apart from Rohit and Suryakumar Yadav, none of their batters has managed to make any impact so far this year. However, their bowling attack stronger this year. Rahul Chahar, Mumbai’s top wicket-taker in IPL 2021 after four matches, will be once again key on the slow and low Chennai pitch.
PBKS, although have plenty to worry about in their playing XI. The inclusion of Fabian Allen worked for KL Rahul & co. last time against Hyderabad but their batters failed to accelerate. They may introduce top-ranked T20I batsman Dawid Malan for the first time in IPL, against Mumbai.
