Alex Hales and Paul Stirling got the United off to a fiery start, adding 55 runs in just four overs. Hales got 22 in 9 balls before being dismissed by James Faulkner, while Stirling made 58 in 28 balls. Colin Munro and Azam Khan then added 93 to lift them from 136/3 in 11.1 overs to 229/4.
