Pakistan and West Indies will be up against each other in the third and final T20I at National Stadium in Karachi, on Thursday, 16 December. The hosts have already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead.
Already without seven regular players, West Indies lost three more ahead of the first T20I after they tested positive for Covid-19. With the third T20I and three ODIs left in the tour, they will now miss Shai Hope, Akeal Hosein and Justin Greaves due to the Coronavirus. Further, Devon Thomas has been ruled out of finger injury.
With only 14 players to choose from, it will not be easy for the West Indies to avoid a clean sweep against a full-strength Pakistan. Barring the skipper Nicholas Pooran, they have only three specialist batters in the team.
However, with the series already sealed, Pakistan may want to include some new faces. Shahnawaz Dahani will replace Shaheen Shah Afridi, whom they want fresh for the ODIs. Usman Qadir may come in place of Shadab Khan, who was adjudged as Player of the Match in the last game.
The batting unit is going to remain unchanged. Mohammad Rizwan is the leading run-getter of the series so far, but his opening partner Babar Azam has not done much. Babar has had scores of 0 and 7 in the first two games.
Probable XI:
Pakistan: Babar Azam (c), Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Fakhar Zaman, Haider Ali, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Wasim, Asif Ali, Usman Qadir, Mohammad Nawaz, Haris Rauf, Shahnawaz Dahani
West Indies: Brandon King, Romario Shepherd, Shamarh Brooks, Dominic Drakes, Odean Smith, Darren Bravo, Nicholas Pooran (c & wk), Rovman Powell, Hayden Walsh Jr, Gudakesh Motie, Oshane Thomas.
