Five more Covid-19 cases emerged in the West Indies camp on Thursday, forcing the upcoming three-match ODI series to be postponed to June next year. Shai Hope, Justin Greaves, Akeal Hosein and two members of the support staff returned positive in the RT-PCR test conducted on Thursday's morning. However, the last T20I of the series went on as planned.

Kyle Mayers, Roston Chase and Sheldon Cottrell had tested positive ahead of the three-match T20I series, which went underway. Considering the available squad size of the West Indies available to play, the boards decided to postpone the series.

'Taking into consideration both the teams' welfare as well as limited resources in the West Indies side for the ODIs, it has been agreed that the series, which forms part of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League, will be postponed and rescheduled for early June 2022,' the release read.
